Words to live by.

You know how some people say that "you'll never become anything" or "you'll never be able to do that"....?
Makes you kind of depressed, doesn't it?
I've always wondered - why do we ever bother to listen to them?
If you know, in your heart, that you are capable of great things - then why listen to people who's sole goal is to put you down?

I am opinionated.
And I like to get my way.
Some people say that I'm stubborn and some say I come off as "cranky" and possibly even bitchy.
And I think that's okay.
I refuse to let them be the judge of me.
Only I can be the judge of me.
And only you can be the judge of you!!!
Someone told me once that, at the time we met (way back in the day), she couldn't stand the sight of me.
She pretty much hated my guts...
Was that poor judgement from her?
Well - considering that she is now my best friend, I guess it must have been.
And so, do not judge people you do not know.
You could so very well be wrong about them!

I think it is important that everyone works to get the very best out of life.
And that you give back the very best of what you are.
You have something that the world needs.
Of course you do!
And don't ever let anyone tell you different.

I haven't really set a goal for myself yet.
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
So I'm taking one day at a time, trying to be a good wife, mother, friend...
Am I perfect?
Far, far from it.
But I try, and in the big picture, that's really all you can do, isn't it?

Quote of the day:
"Live your life to the fullest so that you, at the end of your days, can say that reality exceeded the dream." Gry Sorensen

  1. wow, that was some deep lyrics you got there. And you are so right!! For many years I have wanted to be a photographer, but always thought I wasnt good enough and things like that. But I talked to someone (its a secret who I talked to :) and he said ''why let that stop you, you can always learn. Nobody can be perfect, we all have to learn''. And I was thinking, we have got one life to live, so why dont do the best out of it? Its so important. Allright, I may have to work my bum of, and I would probably be lowe on the cash, but hey, I know I can do it :) Really, a superb blog!!

  2. Hi Gry! Jeg simpelthen elsker denne! I LOVE THIS! Brilliant of you. Here's something to chew on... I am almost 50 years old. Recently retired, I decided to take on my first love, music. Mummy dearest, she said, "You'll never play piano with those small hands..."; "Nobody will ever like you, because of the way you look..." and the ever-popular, "You'll never do anything with your life..." I am doing it all now, having a ball, accomplishing so very much & NONE of what Mum said is true. Life is what you make it. Rock on my friend...☮ ♥ ♫

Finally!!!

After what feels like forever, my wish has finally come true. Joey DeGraw is coming to Oslo to play! It's been a spring full of emailing, calling and a lot of organizing to try and get Joey a gig over here. It's felt like a ton of work, yet I didn't really get anywhere. Then my friend Monica stepped up and got Joey a gig at a small, but very cozy pub called Buckley's in Oslo. I'm exited. Thats an understatement! I get to see Joey in the city I live in. No fuzz with travelling and no stress what so ever. It will be amazing. All I need to do is to sit down with a drink and enjoy some great music. This summer is saved, no matter what happens, cuz I get to see Joey DeGraw LIVE! :)

Before.

Just thought I'd show you a "before" picture of the room we're fixing up... I'll get more pics as we go.. :)
