Meaning...

It's no secret to the world around me that I am more than just a little impressed by the musical talent that is Gavin DeGraw.
I've listened to him for so long now that I can hardly remember what it was like when I didn't know who he was.
His music is as big a part of my day as my kids and husband are - I'm always listening to something he made.
Except for when I'm sick of it, and that doesn't happen very often.
In fact - it doesn't happen, and I actually think I'm a little weird being so narrowminded about music.
It's not that I don't listen to anything else, trust me - I do, but if I was given a choice between anything and Gavin, it would always be Gavin.

It's weird because just when I think I'm about to get tired of Gavin he does something special and in an instant I find myself back on the wagon, or the Chariot, if you will.
This time, like so many times before, it was a performance that did it.
Gavin appeared on Imus in the Morning show on the Fox Business Network and played a few songs. I didn't bother to tune in. Timezones are a bitch that way.
Luckily Billy Norris, Gavins wicked guitarplayer, shared a link to the performance with the world, and I got to see it anyway.
And found myself playing this one over and over..

It's ridiculous really, that I can't seem to stop this.
Feels a bit like an addiction that I just can't get rid of.
But that's the thing about addiction isn't it - you just don't want to stop!

  1. The line about being narrow-minded about music could've been written about me, LOL! For me it's pretty much all Gavin, all the time :-).

  2. If you expected those of us in the fellowship, or should I say "Followthroughship", of Gavin DeGraw fans to say you were crazy, not going to happen... I absolutely adore him. That "Chariot" rescued me back in 2004. It couldn't have been addictive, I haven't jumped the wagon since. So it must be spiritual in nature.

I'd be a liar if I said I listened exclusively to this man who transformed my life for the better, because he opened my ears to many other gifts in music as well as new things to ponder. What a gift, to me, to the world. Nothing to call narrow-minded, more at open-minded if you ask me.

Thanks for blogging about one of my top five most beautiful men in the world. I could sing his praises all day long. Pepper32 ☮ ♥ & ♫

Finally!!!

After what feels like forever, my wish has finally come true. Joey DeGraw is coming to Oslo to play! It's been a spring full of emailing, calling and a lot of organizing to try and get Joey a gig over here. It's felt like a ton of work, yet I didn't really get anywhere. Then my friend Monica stepped up and got Joey a gig at a small, but very cozy pub called Buckley's in Oslo. I'm exited. Thats an understatement! I get to see Joey in the city I live in. No fuzz with travelling and no stress what so ever. It will be amazing. All I need to do is to sit down with a drink and enjoy some great music. This summer is saved, no matter what happens, cuz I get to see Joey DeGraw LIVE! :)

Before.

Just thought I'd show you a "before" picture of the room we're fixing up... I'll get more pics as we go.. :)
