Social Media geek?

Ok, here's a thought. Am I really a social media geek?? Can I be considered an addict? :=) Well, lets break it down.... I have a Facebook-account. From that account I am admin of at least three other pages. I have a Twitter-account. No - wait... I have two. :) I have five - yes, five, MySpace-pages. I have a LinkedIn-account. I have a blog. I have MSN Messenger. I have Yahoo Messenger. I have Google Talk. I have AIM. I visit Facebook at least once a day. I am on MySpace more than five times a week. I tweet - all the time. I blog when I have something to say. I talk to friends via messengers whenever I have time. To top it off I also have a serious relationship with my Blackberry. lol Needless to say I spend a lot of time online. :p Next to all this I have a full time job. I also go to nightschool. I have kids and a husband, and I live in a house with a garden that needs looking after. And none of the above are neglected. So.... am I a geek? And is that a good thing or a bad thin...

Forces of Nature.

Mother Earth can sure be moody. The world is just starting to forget about the tragic earthquakes in Haiti. Make no mistake about it - the man on the street, the guy next door... and John Doe.. they're all starting to forget. Such is the nature of mankind. And so, to remind us - Mother Earth throws another fit. This time in China. 600 people dead so far, and more than 10 000 injured. Wounded people in the streets and schoolchildren buried alive in ruins. It is devastating, for sure! And my heart bleeds.... But one can always speculate - is this our planet's way of keeping the population down? Her way of making sure we do not overpopulate the planet and ruin it completely with our ongoing industrial "revolution"? Or is it "payback" for us taking advantage of Mother Earths own resources....? One can wonder if she might just be making fun of us when she suddenly "blocks up" most of northern Europe with a tiny volcano-erruption in Iceland and the ashes...

Joey DeGraw

I know it's hard for one person to make a difference in the world we live in, but I think that if you have something to say, you need to speak up! So here's what I'm gonna say today: Every now and then a "special" someone comes along to leave a mark on you - or rather "in" you. For me, one of those special people, was Joey DeGraw . It's hard to explain why you like someone's music, the reason for that is often, or even usually, different from person to person. As it is today, I cannot explain exactly why I feel the way I feel about Joey. The way he puts his words together hits a nerve in me in such a way that it can't be ignored. I love the arrogance about him, and the fact that he can't be muzzled. His sound is easily recognizeable and Joey's rough, yet smooth voice puts me in an instant state of...well, almost bliss. Sounds weird, I know, but do me a favour: Lie down and pull a blanket over you, play "Midnight Audio" or ...

The beauty of friendship!

Once in a while I take time to sit back and take look at my life. I think it's important to do that and I encourage you all to do so. I spent last night at my friends house. My girlies and I met up for dinner and drinks. We had a wonderful night, and I feel truly blessed to have such amazing friends. We work our way through the everyday struggles that we all have. Worksituation - boyfriends/husbands - hopes and dreams for the future. Okay - so we all have some "baggage". Stuff that we have to struggle to get through every single day....but then again; Doesn't everyone? The good thing about friendship is that we can support each other. With mutual understanding we can make tomorrow just a little tiny bit easier for someone. And that's the beauty of true friendship!
